Gustaf Klimt's "Tree of Life"
We we're inspired by Gustaf Klimt's "Tree of Life" for this week's art lesson. Gustaf Klimt was an Austrian painter and illustrator in the Art Nouveau style. Klimt found school very difficult and did not consider himself a good reader or writer:
"I have the gift of neither the spoken nor the written word...whoever wants to know something about me ought to look carefully at my pictures and try and see in them what I am and what I want to do."
Gustav Klimt
The Tree of Life represents wisdom, protection, strength, and beauty. It reaches up into the sky and down into the earth. It links Heaven and Earth.

Operation Transformation
Our whole school is taking part in Operation Transformation. We've been getting active every day with aerobics, dancing and laps in the yard. We are already starting to feel more fit. Here we are dancing to "Just Dance". We've got the moves!

A Visit From Boyband "Taken"
Dublin boyband Taken visited Scoil Mhuire on Thursday. They performed some songs for us in the hall. We really enjoyed their music.
After that the band, Eoghan, Mark, Ste and Richie, signed autographs.
